Prime Minister Saad Hariri held talks this evening with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate Khaled Fawzi and President Sisi's chief of staff, Major General Abbas Kamel.
Afterwards, a closed meeting took place between presidents Sisi and Hariri, followed by a dinner held by the Egyptian President in honor of Hariri.
After the meeting, Hariri said: "I thank President al-Sisi for receiving me in Egypt and for the dinner he held, during which we had a long talk about the stability of Lebanon and the need to disassociate Lebanon and the region from all regional policies. I thank Egypt for its support and thank President al-Sisi for his support for Lebanon and its stability. I hope that Independence Day tomorrow will be a celebration for all Lebanese. As I said in Paris, I will announce my political stance in Lebanon, and will not talk politics now
