Information Ministers of 'Counter-Terrorism Countries" affirm necessity

The Information Ministers of 'Counter-Terrorism Countries' today met in Manama and welcomed the strategy of the United Sates towards Iran, underlining the importance of combatting terrorism and its supporters.

The ministers, who represent Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, also highlighted the necessity of resisting Qatar’s interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, through its support for Political Islam and its using terrorism as a method of achieving its goals, an approach, which, they said, began many years ago and is still continuing as a systematic and destructive policy.

In a related context, the ministers stressed the importance of resisting the hate speech that is sponsored by the government of Qatar and its media arms, along with its policy to isolate the people of Qatar from their Gulf and Arab neighbours.

The information ministers also highlighted the necessity of consolidating values of tolerance and cultural diversity, as well as promoting positive interactions between communities.

They discussed several suggestions on consolidating their joint media work to serve international efforts aimed at combatting extremism, terrorism and hate speech.
