Iraqi Vice-President Osama Al Nujaifi called Monday for swiftly arming the residents of the Daesh-held areas.

"This is the only way to guarantee victory and uproot terrorism," Nujaifi said in a statement.

He called for re-evaluating the security leaders and holding those who are negligent accountable.
