Jordan, Egypt discuss relations

King Abdullah II of Jordan on Sunday received Egyptian Foreign Minister Samih Shukri, who conveyed a letter from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the King, dealing with bilateral ties as well as regional developments.

According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the meeting touched on the strong ties between Jordan and Egypt as well as keenness to boost them in various domains as well as efforts to enhance Arab cooperation and solidarity and coordinate stances to address challenges facing the region.

Talks during the meeting, also dealt with current regional developments, mainly the Palestinian reconciliation agreement, efforts to push the peace process forward in addition to the latest developments in Syria and Lebanon.

The King and the Egyptian minister affirmed the need to find political solutions to regional crises that restore security and stability to peoples of the Middle East and avert tension and violence.
