Manama - Arab Today
As the biggest MMA fight card in Middle Eastern history is being built up for UAE, two Jordanian fighters of the highest caliber have joined the list.
Brave CF’s lightweight contender Abdulkareem Al Selwady (6-1) will face Alex "Coringa" Rodrigues (5-1), and welterweight contender Jarrah Al Selawi (8-2 MMA, 1-0 Brave) meets newly signed top Italian prospect Daniele "Scat" Scatizzi at Brave 4: Unstoppable on March 31st, the promotion confirmed yesterday.
The event will take place in IPIC Arena at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It will be headlined by the promotion's first ever title fight between Algerian Elias Boudegzdame vs. Mexico's MasioFullen.
In his promotional debut, Abdulkareem Al Selwady made a huge statement, putting on an electrifying performance vs. Rami Aziz at Brave 2: Dynasty. This main-event victory put the Jordanian in the spotlight, making him the target of many challengers across the globe.
Yet, Brave officials already had Al Selwady booked, only to reveal today that he will be facing Brazil's Alexandre "Coringa" Rodrigues. Rodriguez boasts a professional record of 5 wins and 1 loss, with all wins by way of submission. His 1 loss came after a 5 fight winning streak, and "Coringa" will be definitely looking to bounce back on the winning track and be the man who stops Al Selwady.
The stakes are big for this fight, and it also comes with a special twist. Alex Rodrigues actually trains at Icon Jiu-Jitsu Switzerland and is team mate of Aziz Julaidan, Abdulkareem Al Selwady’s bitter rival. The fans are going to love this one.
Al Selawi (8-2), regarded as a top 5 welterweight in the Middle East will be a massive crowd favorite in UAE. He marches into this bout with a 3 fight win streak and 8 professional career wins. The "Jordanian Lion" holds victories against fighters like Mohammad Fakhreddine, RamyHamed, ArtemReznikov, with his latest victory coming at Brave 2: Dynasty, submitting Erik Carlsson in the second.
Scatizzi, 23, is originally from Rome, Italy. He currently lives and trains at Straight Blast Gym Ireland, under the mentoring of coach John Kavanagh. "Scat" has a professional record of 8 wins and 2 losses. A Bellator veteran, with a win over his fellow countryman Daniele Miceli, Scatizzi beat BartlomiejKurczewski via unanimous decision in his last bout at VCE 5, in Italy.
Brave 4: Unstoppable not only holds the promotions first ever title fight, but Brave president Shahid promises that this will be the biggest fight card in the history of middle east.
"THE WHO's WHO of middle eastern MMA will take part of this card, UAE fight fans, get ready!"
