King Abdulla II of Jordan today received a phone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi and discussed regional developments, particularly efforts to combat terrorism. The Jordanian monarch backed the efforts of the Iraqi Government to combat terrorist groups, reiterating his country's stance in support of Iraqi security and stability.
He commended the progress achieved by the Iraqi army in combating the terrorist Dae'sh group. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations, focusing on economic ties. They also discussed ways of securing the international highway binding Amman and Baghdad to resume trade movement between the two countries.
