Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee, MP Ibrahim Kanaan said in an intervention with Al-Manar TV station that setting a 1200 billion LBP ceiling to the salary scale is what brought unfairness to retirees and contract workers and made salary increases less equitable.

"Let us joint efforts to achieve reform and give people their rights through a new policy based on beating corruption and stopping waste, chaos and uncontrolled spending. We must thus return to the adoption of reformative budgets and the proper completion of financial accounts auditing," he said

To those lashing out at the salary scale formula, Kanaan said "it is not permissible to put all deputies and blocs in one basket. Those who did wrong ought to be pinpointed
