At least one person was killed among those injured in the fire that broke out at Kuwait central prison and was contained by six fire stations on Thursday, said Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD).

    The fire injured 47 in section four of the prison, while also injuring four firefighters, the directorate's public relations department chairman, Col. Khalil Al-Amir told the official KUNA news agency.

    He added that a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the blaze is currently being conducted by the directorate.
