Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir highlighted Saudi Arabia’s international achievements on the occasion of the country’s 87th National Day.
In a statement, Al-Jubeir said the Kingdom’s policies were based on deep-rooted Islamic faith, as well as moderation, openness, dialogue and cooperation. He stressed that Saudi Arabia had worked with the international community to establish world peace, and would continue to do so.
He also explained that country’s foreign policy is based on respect for the sovereign rights of other countries and non-interference in their internal affairs, respect for international law and taking an effective role in regional and international organizations.
Al-Jubeir stressed that National Day is “an occasion which remains a source of pride for the homeland.”
Saudi Arabia, the minister said, “thanks to Allah and the directives of King Salman and the crown prince,” has not only called for concerted global efforts to solve international problems, but has also taken the initiative in several causes, from the latest developments in the ongoing issue of Palestine to rallying support against the scourge of terrorism and extremism.
In so doing, Al-Jubeir claimed, Saudi Arabia showed its determination to serve not just its national interests, but to support Arab and Islamic issues and serve international peace and security.
