Member of the Future Parliamentary bloc, MP Atef Majdalani, said in an interview with the "Free Lebanon" radio "we cannot accept a new extension of the Parliament's term, and the elections are to be conducted in due time, next May."

The MP added that "the salary scale needs revenue under the current monetary conditions, for Lebanon is on the brink of the abyss."

"After the Constitutional Council's decision to suspend the tax law, it is the State's duty to find new taxes or amend the tax law to cover the expenses of the salary scale," he said. "Taxation will be adjusted and taxes on the middle class will be reduced," Majdalani noted
