Beirut - Arab Today
The Maronite Bishops on Wednesday hailed the Cabinet's decision to abide by the policy of dissociating Lebanon from conflicts and the domestic affairs of the Arab countries.
"The Bishops welcome the Cabinet's decision adopted in yesterday's session under the chairmanship of the President of the republic, regarding the commitment of the government, with all its political components, the dissociation policy from any conflict or war, and from the internal affairs of the Arab states, in preservation of Lebanon's relations with its Arab brothers," the prelates said in a statement following their periodic meeting under the presidency of Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rahi.
"The Bishops exhort everybody to abide by this decision in order to protect national unity, and political, economic, and security stability. They also thank the President of the republic as well as all the national, regional, and international leaderships that had directly intervened in the crisis," they added.
"The Bishops also highlight the necessity to hold the legislative elections on their due date," they underlined
