MBRF holds 3rd meeting in preparation for Global Knowledge Index

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, MBRF, convened its third meeting to prepare for the upcoming inaugural edition of the Global Knowledge Index, following the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.

The meeting was attended by an expert group associated with the Arab Knowledge Project in the Library of Alexandria, Egypt.

The participants discussed in detail the Index’s updated version, as well as the progress made with regards to the upcoming launch of its global version in November, during the Knowledge Summit in Dubai.

The one-of-a-kind global knowledge index covers 140 countries and is put together by top-tier Arab and international experts and consultants using accurate and objective data. It is the fruit of a partnership between MBRF and the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the MBRF, said, "Our partnership with the Global Management Challenge complements our mission to spread knowledge and facilitate learning across various disciplines through innovative and effective means. The challenge trains and empowers a generation of young leaders, capable of making the right decisions and efficiently managing business. This, in turn, stands to improve corporate performance and achieve greater global competitiveness."

"The fact that today’s meeting is held at the Library of Alexandria, a global knowledge and culture icon, makes it all the more distinguished," said Dr. Hany Torky, Director of the Arab Knowledge Project.

The Global Knowledge Index covers six main sectors: pre-university education, technical education and vocational training, higher education, economics, information and communication technology, ICT, research and development, R&D, and innovation, as well as knowledge-enabling environments.

The Arab Knowledge Project had organised two previous expert meetings, the first took place in Beirut in May 2017, and the second in Dubai in June 2017
