Middlesex University Dubai lecturer awarded Doctorate Degree

In a celebration of student achievement, Middlesex University Dubai lecturer, Dr. Sreejith Balasubramanian has been awarded his Doctorate Degree by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Tim Blackman.

Dr Balasubramanian’s 'Green Supply Chain Management: An investigation on the construction sector', investigated how construction projects could implement green initiatives during the supply chain stages, from design to end of life.

"The construction sector is the single largest contributor of global carbon emissions, resource, water and energy consumption and this is only expected to grow as urbanisation increases," said Dr. Balasubramanian. "Focusing specifically on the UAE supply chain management sector, I wanted to investigate the initiatives put in place by the private and public sectors to minimise environmental impacts in the region. Completing this study was important for me as this is an ongoing issue in the region’s dynamic and fast paced construction sector."

"The undertaking of a doctorate thesis is not only a serious commitment which results in the development of research, but also benefits those sectors which are the focus of the research," explained Dr. Cedwyn Fernandes, Director of Middlesex University Dubai.

"This doctorate signifies years of dedication, hard work and research by Dr. Balasubramanian into the region’s supply chain management sector," said Dr. Fernandes. "The completion of a Doctorate Degree, or any Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree, is a significant accomplishment and on behalf of the staff and faculty at Middlesex University Dubai we would like to congratulate Dr. Balasubramanian on this significant milestone."
