Military Spokesman Tamer El Refaie said on Wednesday that border guards arrested from September 3 to 18 a total of 340 people of various nationalities over infiltration and illegal migration attempts.

In a statement on Wednesday, Refaie hailed the efforts exerted by border guards within the framework of the Armed Forces' efforts to combat Takfiri and criminal elements which harm the Egyptian security. 

Border guards also seized about 1550 kilograms of hashish alongside 3.2 million narcotic pills and other illegal commodities.
