Ministry of Culture prints and publishes 4 PhD Theses about Arabic language and literature

 Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development has announced that it is printing and publishing a number of PhD. research and postgraduate studies about the Arabic language, literature and arts, and its utilisation in government and private institutions.

The initiative, in collaboration with the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Dubai, aims to support the Arabic language in universities, promote Arabic language related research, and enrich libraries with valuable cultural and knowledge additions, which can benefit researchers, scholars, writers and the general public and enhance the value and position of the Arabic language. As an initial step, four PhD. theses were selected to be printed and published during the coming period.

The announcement came during a visit of a college delegation to the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in Dubai. The delegation included Dr. Ahmed Rahmani, Dean of the Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Essam Eid, Assistant Dean of Post Graduate Studies for Academic Affairs, as well as four female students with Doctorate degrees. The students signed printing and publishing contracts with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development on the sidelines of the session which discussed prospects of future cooperation in the fields of Arabic language, arts and literature.

The session was attended by Fatima Al Nassour, Head of Knowledge Content Department, the writer Basma Younis, and Dr. Hamda Al Hammadi from the Ministry of Culture.

"This initiative comes as a result of long meetings between the Ministry and the College over the past few months, where both sides focused on the importance of reflecting the ease, simplicity and usefulness of the Arabic language to benefit both ordinary and specialised readers," said Al Nassour.

Research includes Linguistic Planning in the UAE - A Sociological Study, by Dr. Aisha Ibrahim Mohammed, Al Ajaibei and Al Gharaibi in the Structure of UAE Narratives, by Dr. Aisha Mohammed Abdullah Al-Shehhi, Criticism Correspondence in Modern Arabic Periodicals - Approaches to Criticism in the period between 1900-1960, by Dr. Noura Obeid Omeir Al-Rumaithi, and A Study about the Artistic Construction of Poetry by Dr. Hamda Hassan Ali Al-Hammadi.

Dr. Ahmed Rahmani lauded the role of the Ministry of Culture in the development and support of the Arabic language, stressing that the attention of the UAE leadership to the value of the Arabic language, hailing its role as a carrier of Arab culture and genuine Emirati values and traditions
