MoI to launch security innovation award at ISNR 2018

The Ministry of Interior, MoI, on Tuesday announced that it will launch a security innovation award at the International Exhibition of National Security and Resilience, ISNR, which Abu Dhabi will host in March 2018.

Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector-General, MoI, and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of ISNR, told a press conference that the launch of the award supports the UAE's transformation into a global hub for innovation under the National Innovation Strategy.

''The MoI encourages students to be innovative and develop their creative skills and abilities as part of its commitment to promote and spread the culture of excellence and innovation in both federal and local sectors. The UAE’s leadership is keen on maintaining the nation's position as a role model for modernisation and progress by encouraging excellence,'' he said.

Emirati and non-Emirati applicants from education institutions across the country will have until 26th December 2017 to submit their entries through the MoI's website.

During ISNR, which will be held in Abu Dhabi from 6th to 8th March 2018, first three winners in two categories - higher education and secondary education - will receive cash prizes, trophies and certificates of appreciation.

Co-organised by the MoI, ISNR is a global event that offers a networking platform connecting regional government bodies, homeland security and law enforcement officers, professionals and buyers with international security solution providers and manufacturers. The aim is to bring the security community together to collaborate, develop business opportunities, and share future innovations for a safer and connected world.
