Chief of the Nepalese Army Staff, Rajendra Chhetri, has visited Wahat Al Karama, a memorial that embodies the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to commemorate the UAE’s brave soldiers who lost their lives while serving the nation.
During his tour of the grounds, Chherti, who was accompanied by Major General Salem Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Head of Administration and Human Resources in the Ministry of Defence, placed a wreath in front of the memorial which comprises 31 tablets featuring the names of the fallen engraved in aluminium plates. The plates, each leaning on the other, represent the unity, solidarity and mutual support that bind together leadership and citizens with the servicemen and women who protect them.
Chief Chhetri concluded his visit by signing the memorial book, expressing appreciation for the symbolism of Wahat Al Karama and what it represents for the UAE and its people
