The Palestinian Prisoners Club on Sunday said the number of hunger-striking prisoners rose to 148 in protest against their administrative detention by the Israeli occupation forces.

A statement released on Sunday, the prisoners club said the number of Palestinian prisoners who went on a hunger strike at Nafha prison has reached 120, along with 26 in Rimon prisoners.

The prisoners are belonging to four Palestinian factions, namely Fatah, the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine, the Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine and Islamic Jihad.

The Israeli prisoners authority has launched a campaign of repressive measures against the prisoners including storming their rooms, assaults and banning visits of their families.

The Palestinian Prisoners Authority stated that the number of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel amount to 6,000 prisoners in 20 jails.
