Oman is taking part in the 28th Arab League Summit in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Assigned by His Majesty the Sultan, Sayyid As'ad bin Tariq bin Taimour Al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of HM the Sultan will lead the Sultanate's delegation, according to Oman News Agency (ONA).
In a statement, Sayyid Asa'd said that the Sultanate supports the peaceful work to settle all issues of the region. He pointed out that the meeting of the Arab leaders in the Arab Summit provides an opportunity for positive consultations and sharing of views. He affirmed the importance of the Summit and its timing and hoped that it will come out with decisions that support the Arab joint action.
The 28th Arab Summit will discuss a number of issues related Palestine, Syria, Libya, and Yemen as well as the combat of terrorism and the developments of the Arab joint socio-economic cooperation.
The Summit will also discuss a report on the joint Arab situation in terms of trade, investment and the Arab strategy to address the water challenges. It will also review the executive framework plan for the emergency program for the Arab food security – the second stage and the Arab Agreement for the Exchange of Plant Sources and Cultural Knowledge, ONA reported.
