A Palestinian worker was wounded in the West Bank when an Israeli settler shot him on Tuesday amid a wave of arrests, Palestinian security sources said. The worker, 21 years old, was with a group of colleagues trying to infiltrate Israel for work near a settlement in Qalqilya city, when a settler spotted them and fired at the group, hitting the young worker with a gunshot in the leg. In separate incidents, the Israeli army arrested 11 Palestinians in the West Bank, saying they were wanted activists. The Palestinian National Authority (PNA), which controls parts of the West Bank, says the Israeli daily raids undermine its efforts to impose order in the territory.
