Cairo - Arab Today
Speaker of the House of Representatives Aly Abdel Aal has stressed, yet again, respect and appreciation for parliamentary reporters and photographers covering the parliamentary sessions.
They are doing their job as should be, Abdel Aal said as he praised parliamentary reporters Tuesday.
His remarks came after MP Abdullah Lashin was caught by camera smiling while talking with one of his female peers, which became a rich topic for gossip by a number of websites. But Abdel Aal still defended photographers, insisting they are doing their job in a professional manner. It is those websites that rather tend to badly use the material they get, the speaker noted.
Abdel Aal said he cannot possibly stop photographers from doing their job so long as they stick by law and parliament regulations.
MP Lashin requested that parliament take measures to ban photographers from taking pictures of MPs in awkward positions.
He stressed that he would file reports against two websites that had paired the picture with audio clips.
