The Petroleum Ministry is working on four new petrochemical projects that will cost more than one billion dollars.
The projects are meant to maximize the added value of raw materials available on the local market instead of exporting them.
In a meeting with the general assembly of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM), Petroleum Minister Tareq el Molla stressed the need to continue to upgrade production units and techniques used in production with the aim to increase petrochemical products to meet the growing demands inside and outside Egypt.
