President of the Republic Michel Aoun on Wednesday vowed that he shall work to alleviate deprivation in all

President of the Republic Michel Aoun on Wednesday vowed that he shall work to alleviate deprivation in all Lebanese areas without any decimation, stressing the need to move towards productive economy.

President Aoun's fresh words on Wednesday morning came during his meeting at the Baabda palace with a delegation of the Provincial Consultative Gathering, led by the Head of the National Council of Audio and Visual Media, Abdel Hadi Mahfouz.

Aoun pledged that he shall cooperate with all to realize these goals which are keenly sought by all the Lebanese.

Mahfouz said that the Provincial Consultative Gathering represents all the segments of the Lebanese society and upholds the notion of a just and capable civil state and the common denominator amongst all the Lebanese notably the idea of a single citizenship rather than sects, in addition to social justice.

President Aoun, for his part, underlined the need to move the country towards a more productive economy, and the importance of a new economic system which would benefit the entire Lebanese regions.

The President listed already implemented steps in this regard, notably the establishment of industrial zones in different districts and issuing licenses to them, as well as securing the necessary investments and attracting investors. Aoun noted: "There are other steps which we will apply one by one."

Aoun stressed his concern for following up on the affairs related to the northern district even prior to his assumption of the presidency.

On the other hand, Aoun met with head of the Central Inspection Commission, Judge George Attieh, with talks touching on the work of the Inspection.

Aoun stressed "the need to activate monitoring exercised by the inspection of various specialties to ensure public order in the departments and institutions and prevent violations and trespasses."

Among Baabda palace's itinerant visitors for today had been Lebanon's Permanent Representative at the United Nations, Amal Mudallali, and Lebanon's Ambassador to Turkey, Ghassan al-Moallem
