Higher State Security Prosecution Attorney General Khaled Diaaeddin Sunday ordered remanding three defendants, including the finance minister's adviser for real estate taxes affairs, four days pending investigations in a bribery case.
The adviser is facing charges of bribery in return for the devaluation of a tourist resort land and the other defendants are accused of offering and mediating a bribe.
The three were arrested red-handed offering a one-million-pound bribe to the adviser as part of a sum of four-million-pound. The crime would have wasted the state treasury around EGP 500 million.
