The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided Thursday to release former head of the Accountability State Authority Hisham Geneina on bail of 10.000 pounds.

He was released pending investigations carried out by the prosecution in the case of giving media statements while being the head of the authority where he claimed that he discovered corruption cases estimated at 600 billion pounds during 2015.

The general prosecution accused Geneina of spreading false news which harm the state institutions and confidence in it.
