Alexandria prosecution began on Wednesday an investigation into the killing of a dry grocery owner in Sidi Beshr area after the arrest of the killer.

The killer was identified as a 50-year-old candy vendor at El Awayed bus stop. 

The arrest came after prosecution ordered the examination of surveillance cameras fixed at neighboring stores.

One camera showed that the victim was wearing a yellow coat and then got a big knife out of his outfit and slaughtered Youssef Lamei, who was sitting smoking Shisha outside his store in Khaled Bin El Waleed street, one of Alexandria's busiest commercial streets. The victim did not resist.

Another camera showed the criminal’s face clearly.
