The State of Qatar has condemned the attack which targeted a public park and a hotel yesterday evening in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, killing and wounding a number of people.
In a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed "Qatar's firm position which rejects violence and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, whatever its motives and justifications."
The ministry stressed the "solidarity of the State of Qatar with Somalia in its efforts to eradicate this phenomenon, which is contrary to all moral and humanitarian values."
The Ministry concluded its statement by "expressing sincere condolences with the Government of Somalia and families of the victims killed by this heinous crime. It wished speedy recovery for the wounded."
