Qatar will take part in the sixth edition of the Arab-European Youth Forum

Qatar will take part in the sixth edition of the Arab-European Youth Forum which will be hosted in Morocco in partnership with Arab League and the Council of Europe.
Qatar represented by the Ministry of Culture and Sports will attend the event which will bring together youth delegations and officials from a number of Arab and European countries, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The Forum will mobilize young people and youth organizations from Arab and European regions to engage in dialogue and cooperation against violent extremism and hate speech.
Speaking to QNA, The Director of Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Sports Abdulrahman Al Hajri highlighted the importance of the Forum in the interaction between Arab youth and their European counterparts, adding that it will contribute to a better understanding of the changes sweeping the modern world, especially the issue of extremism and terrorism. He pointed out that there is a need for a constructive dialogue among different cultures in a way that leads to growth and development rather than conflict and competition.
Al Hajri said that the Department has chosen two young Qataris to represent Qatar in this forum. Ahmed Hassan Al Obaidli and Mohammed Al Atbi were chosen to present Qatar's experience in embracing youth and creating a cultural and intellectual environment conducive to having youth capable of interacting positively with issues in his homeland and at regional and international level.
The 4-day Arab-European Youth Forum has since 2008 become a biannual event inviting around 80 Arab and European youth leaders, young workers, representatives of youth associations and decision-makers. Hosting of the Youth Forum rotates between countries from the Arab and European region, according to QNA.
