RTA reviews core objectives of Dubai Cyber Security Strategy

The Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has teamed up with the Dubai Electronic Security Centre, DESC, to hold an awareness-raising workshop for RTA leaderships and staff about the objectives and key drivers of the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy, launched by the Dubai Government in May 2017.

The holding of the workshop stems from RTA’s commitment to work with public entities towards "Making Dubai the Safest City in the Cyberspace."

"The underlying objective of the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy is to curb cyber risks, tackle cybercrimes, and enable users access to a broad spectrum of IT," said Abdullah Al Bastaki, Director of Technology Strategy and Governance, Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, RTA. "Such objectives can be achieved in five domains, Cyber Smart Society, Innovation, Cyber Security, Cyber Resilience, and (Inter) National Collaboration."

He added that RTA is committed to making periodical reviews to ensure that all affiliated sectors and agencies comply with the approved standards set by the Dubai Electronic Security Center.

Amer Sharaf, Director of Compliance, Support and Alliances at the DESC, stressed the importance of cooperating with government and semi-government bodies in implementing the vision of the strategic plan aimed at raising the profile of Dubai as a leading metropolitan city in innovation, safety and security.
