MP Salim Salhab said through the Voice of Lebanon 93.3 radio that "the formation of the elections supervisory commission does not necessarily mean holding the parliamentary elections on time," fearing a "new postponement of the elections for technical or non-technical reasons."
He attributed his fears to the "failure of the ministerial committee charged with the application of the election law to finish its task."
"There is no seriousness in dealing with the elections," Salhab said, asking officials to "interact more and cooperate in this regard." He stressed, on the other hand, that "whatever the reasons, the President of the Republic will not agree to postpone, so it is better to settle the political issues to save the elections
