Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, telephoned Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed Al Tayyeb, SPA reported on Saturday.

During the conversation, the Deputy Crown Prince expressed the Kingdom appreciation of Al Azhar for the stance it took against terrorism and extremism, reiterating support for Al Azhar denunciation and disapproval of the criminal sectarian militias' acts.

For his part, the Grand Imam thanked the Deputy Crown Prince, asserting Al Azhar firm stance based on the call for the unity of Muslims and their stand, in addition to thwart off extremism and violence leading to Destabilization and threatening regional security.
