Several Jordanian soldiers killed near Syrian border

An unidentified number of Jordanian soldiers were reportedly killed near the Syrian border early Tuesday morning, Jordan's Ammon news agency reported.

The attack took place at 05:30 AM local Jordanian time after a car bomb exploded opposite a Syrian refugee camp in Rukban, a city about 8 kilometers to the west of the point at which the Iraq, Syria, and Jordan borders meet.

Jordan's state TV called the incident a "cowardly terrorist attack."
