H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Monday visited the Government House in Kerala, India.
He was received by Governor of Kerala, Justice (Retd.) P. Sathasivam, Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, and several ministers, members of the government, senior officials and businessmen from the state.
During the meeting, they expressed their keenness in strengthening relations between the emirate of Sharjah and the state of Kerala, achieve intellectual exchange in the fields of culture and art, and closely review the efforts of Kerala in the development of its comprehensive cultural renaissance.
At the end of the meeting, the Ruler of Sharjah thanked the governor with an authentic Arab dagger, reflecting the authenticity of the UAE heritage. He, in turn, received a memorial from the governor.
The Kerala Chief Minister was keen to present a collection of copies of the "Sard Al That" book of the Ruler of Sharjah, translated into Malayalam, as a gift to fellow ministers and members of the government.
He called on the Government Relations Department in the emirate of Sharjah to co-ordinate with the Indian Embassy in the UAE to study opportunities and expand areas of mutual co-operation between Sharjah and Kerala.
Accompanying him on the visit are Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council; Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office; Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Government Relations Department; Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information; Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Director of the Sharjah Department of Protocol and Guesthouses; Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of Sharjah Media Corporation, and a number of diplomats, academics and businessmen.
