H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the Sharjah Beach Development Project, which is part of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council's (SUPC) strategic plan, aimed to develop diversified service projects with the objective of enhancing emirate's people’s welfare and boosting infrastructure development.
The project, which is part of the Emirate's infrastructure and urban development and conservation plan, will transform the area along the Sharjah Beach Road with a distance of 3.3 km into a leading tourism and leisure destination, with contemporary designs and premium services, simulating global destinations across advanced world cities.
The development of Sharjah Beach is in response to the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan about the development of public spaces in Sharjah - a vision which is exemplarily translated by the efforts of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council, aimed to develop ambitious plans and strategies that will develop the Emirate's public assets for the benefit of citizens, residents and visitors alike.
Through this ambitious strategic project, the SUPC continues to work closely with various relevant government institutions and departments to unify efforts in order to achieve all the objectives set and to pursue quality projects with a sustainable strategic dimension that benefit various sectors and segments of society in Sharjah.
Sheikh Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council, hqs said that quality efforts have been tirelessly made to develop a unique design that suits the special nature of the Emirate and enhances the pace of tourism, commercial and economic mobility in the emirate with the objective of providing a destination that matches and caters to the lifestyle of the Emirate’s population.
Sheikh Khalid added, "SUPC is working in cooperation with the various government departments involved in the project within the framework of the overall vision of the Council and its pivotal role in contributing to the development of Sharjah's living standards."
Eng. Khalid Mohammed Al Ali, Secretary General of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council, said: "The Council is keen to give priority to the implementation of specific projects that will be the nucleus of the transformation phase being implemented by the Council to improve and develop infrastructure and utilities services in Sharjah, especially its waterfront areas."
The SUPC Secretary-General added that the unique design of the Sharjah Beach will make it one of the most popular leisure destinations in the emirate. "The whole family can participate in recreational activities along the beach, relax or practice various sports in a wide range of amenities and public services."
