Cairo - Arab Today
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, currently on a visit to Ramallah, has conveyed a message of solidarity and support from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The message took up Egypt's support and role in regard to the Palestinian cause, stressing that it is a top priority for Egypt's foreign policy, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
Shoukry was keen to brief Abbas on Egypt's assessment of the outcome of the Paris-hosted ministerial meeting on the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, Abu Zeid added.
The Palestinian President, for his part, posted Shoukry on the last round of inter-Palestinian reconciliation talks and the reasons for them being stalled.
Shoukry has also held meetings with Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and Foreign Minister Riyad al Maliki.
Shoukry's meeting with Hamdallah, Abu Zeid added, took up in detail the humanitarian and living conditions facing palestinians, particularly in the Gaza Strip in light of some parties' lack of commitment of pledges with regard to Gaza reconstruction conference.
The two sides agreed on the importance of boosting the Egyptian-Palestinian cooperation in all domains in a way that embodies the size and importance of the bilateral relations, Abu Zeid indicated.
