Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received Sunday a delegation representing the parliament's foreign affairs committee under the head of the committee MP Ahmed Saed within the framework of the ongoing contact between the Foreign Ministry and the members of the House of Representatives.
The meeting comes ahead of a visit by the parliamentarian delegation to the US during the coming few days.
The delegation listened to the vision of the foreign minister on the Egyptian-US ties and means of promoting them in all fields, said the Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Shoukry stressed the importance of the visit of the delegation to the US as it coincides with great developments witnessed by the region.
The visit comes after Riyadh Summit and crystallizing the joint relations following several meetings between the Egyptian and US presidents, Shoukry reiterated.
The foreign minister demanded the members of the committee to expand their meetings in the US for the special and complex nature of decision-making process in this country.
Abu Zeid further said that the delegation will post the US side, during the visit, on the latest developments in Egypt at the political, security and economic levels as well as Egypt's stance towards a number of regional issues of common interest such as conditions in Syria, Libya, Yemen and the Palestinian cause.
