Sisi attends Labor Day celebration

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended the country's celebration of Labor Day Thursday, which is organized by the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF).

The event was attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan, Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court Adly Mansour, presidential adviser for national projects Ibrahim Mahlab and presidential adviser Kamal el Ganzouri.

Other ministers and former prime ministers attended the celebration along with several ambassadors, senior officials at the Manpower Ministry and ETUF and over 1,000 labor leaders.

The president is expected to deliver an address to the nation over the occasion, which falls on May 1, and honor ten veteran unionists and two former employees at the Manpower Ministry.

The manpower minister will review a plan to support the workforce and achieve stability in work relations.

ETUF President Gebaly el Maraghy will give a speech in the name of Egypt's workers to represent their ambitions and hopes for a better future to Egypt. 
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi bestowed first class Orders of Labor on ten veteran unionists in appreciation of their efforts.

He also honored two retired employees of the Manpower Ministry with first class Medals of Excellence.
During Labor Day celebration, Sisi announced allocating EGP 100 million from ''Long Live Egypt Fund" to the emergency fund of the Manpower Ministry to offer labor aid and provide support to floundering sectors, such as tourism.

The president said he re-assigned the government with fulfilling the needs of citizens, controlling prices, fighting overpricing and preserving the dignity of Egyptians, inside and outside the country.

He also underlined the importance of improving the production quality in order to launch an Egyptian industrial base and raise the slogan of "Made in Egypt".

The government pays special attention to providing health and social insurance to workers, he said, pointing out to their crucial role in the society.
