Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal said all measures taken to strike off the membership of lawmaker Tawfiq Okasha were legally sound.

During a meeting with newspapers chief editors and MENA board chairman Monday, Abdel Aal said the decision to strike off Okasha from his parliament membership was completely sound legal-wise.

Abdel Aal said he backs a law on civil service but was rejected by many lawmakers.

He described the performance of female lawmakers under the dome as more than excellent.
