Student graduation projects inaugurated at UoS

Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, UoS, has inaugurated the Graduation Projects Exhibition of the College of Communication, entitled, "Zayed: The Goodness".

During his tour of the pavilions of the graduation projects, Al Naimiy praised the exhibition and the student's projects. He said that they had succeeded in expressing the essence of the relationship between UoS and the community through several projects executed in collaboration with national and private enterprises within the UAE, especially the Emirate of Sharjah, which in turn reflects the honourable aspect of the results of the education process in the UoS, which mainly focuses on community development and service.

This semester’s exhibition contains more than 48 graduation projects from over 96 students in various fields of the College of Communication, comprising 23 projects on public relations, 13 on electronic media, 7 on graphics design, and 5 on public communication in the English language. The projects varied between the organisation of exhibitions and workshops, designing media and promotional campaigns, production of documentary and short films about community issues, and the art of design, creativity and marketing.

Delivering the opening speech, Dr. Essam Naser, Acting Dean of the College of Communication, said, "This event marks the 7th version of the graduation projects exhibition of the students of the College of Communication, as all efforts have collaborated to achieve such success and choose 'Zayed: The Goodness' as our title for this semester."

"Since its conception, the UoS has been proud of being a community college, this exhibition is an embodiment of such concept, as it showcases a distinguished group of graduation projects focused on issues of interests to the community, which stems from the students’ connection to their society’s issues and achievements. Therefore, today, we stand before remarkable works in all disciplines, ranging from media campaigns, research and documentary films to the different forms of media productions in graphics and multimedia."

During the event, a short film about the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and another about the national archive of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, were shown.
