A ruling party official stressed that Sudan's relations with neighboring Egypt are strategic and there are common interests between the two countries.

Contacts with Egypt are going on to address any problem that might emerge as we truly believe that we both have a joint fate, Amira Fadel, head of the foreign relations sector of the Sudanese ruling National Congress Party, told Al newspaper out Sunday.

Fadel was lately named as the African Union Social Affairs Commissioner.
