UAE Consulate in Toronto organises a dinner banquet for Syrian refugees

The Consulate General of the UAE in Toronto, in cooperation with Member of the Canadian Parliament, Robert Oliphant MP, has hosted a Thanksgiving dinner in honour of Syrian refugees.

The event, which falls in line within the consular activities during the Year of Giving, was attended by Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, and Robert Keith Rae, the former Premier of Ontario.

Sultan Ali Sultan Al Harbi, Consul General of the UAE in Toronto, praised Canada's efforts in welcoming the Syrian refugees, affirming the UAE's support of the Canadian government's stance and efforts in this regard.

He also highlighted the UAE's efforts in providing humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees internationally and the hosting of many Syrian citizens within the UAE, in addition to the nation's intention to host 15,000 Syrian refugees over the next five years.

More than 250 refugees attended the dinner, where a musical performance was conducted by members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
