A joint operation team from federal anti-narcotics departments and Sharjah Police, in cooperation with other concerned authorities, have seized 11 and a half kilograms of hashish and 142,725 illegal pills onboard an Iranian ship in Port Khalid, Sharjah, the UAE news agency (WAM) reported.

Colonel Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Anti-Narcotics Federal Directorate-General at the Ministry of Interior, said the raid uncovered large quantities of narcotic substances hidden in caches on the boat, and arrested 10 people, some of which were Iranian citizens.

Al Suwaidi added that two of the men who were apprehended were hiding in a tank and were found unconscious due to the lack of oxygen and high temperatures.
