Kurdish voters started on Monday going to polling stations to cast their ballot in the independence referendum of self-ruled Kurdistan region of Iraq, Al Sumaria News TV reported.
No further details were given about the event.
The Kurdish government said that the referendum is a democratic option to know the opinion of the Kurds on the separation.
The Iraqi government asserted that the referendum is against the Iraqi constitution and is widely opposed by Arab and foreign countries.
