Yemeni President Abdel Rabou Mansour Hadi received here UN Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in the presence of Vice President and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah.
During the meeting, that was held late Sunday, Hadi asserted that legitimate authority wanted peace and is willing to restore the power usurped by the use of arms to the official state foundations.
Hadi also called for applying UN resolutions on Yemen, especially resolution 2216 which established an arms embargo on the Houthis and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and demanded that all parties in the embattled country, in particular the Houthis, immediately and unconditionally end violence and refrain from further unilateral actions that threatened the political transition.
