Lebanese Forces' Deputy Antoine Zahra on Tuesday maintained that the victory scored against terrorists in east the country was made by the Lebanese army alone.

"The army alone triumphed over terrorists. We congratulate the Lebanese state because, unlike what is being said, the army alone is capable of saving Lebanon from terrorists' perils on the outskirts," the lawmaker told an interview on LBCI channel.

"When Hezbollah found itself out of the game of liberating the outskirts, it invented the role of the rescuer as to uncovering the fate of the military hostages," he said.

"With President Trump, the U.S. has become seriously involved in the war against terrorism, and it is present on the Syrian soil, just like many other countries. The 'Dawn of the Outskirts' operation was backed with U.S. technologies and ground visits. America was not taken aback by the timing of the battle," Zahra explained.

"Somebody had come to the rescue of Daesh, so it is natural that the U.S. pound the gunmen's convoy," he said
