Zayed Charity Convoys to launch field hospital to provide medical care

The Zayed Charity Convoys has announced that they have completed their preparations for the launch of a mobile field hospital, to provide medical services to children and the elderly from the Rohingya community in Bangladesh.

The hospital will provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative medical services, under the supervision of a volunteer medical team from the UAE and Bangladesh.

The mission is a collaboration between the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Society, the Saudi-German Hospital Dubai, Sharjah Charity House, and the Hope Foundation for Women and Children in Bangladesh.

Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, stated the start-of-the-art hospital will advance the medical services provided to the refugee children.

Earlier this month, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, ordered three further airlifts to provide relief supplies to the Rohingya refugees.

Sheikh Mohammed also ordered the construction of an open-air bridge from Dubai to Bangladesh, to send relief supplies to the refugees.

"The field hospital will co-ordinate with local authorities, to prepare an operational plan within a specific time frame," he added.
