Kelly Clarkson says daughter River Rose changed her world.
The 32-year-old singer opened up about the infant in an interview for the March 3 issue of People. Clarkson gave birth to River Rose in June 2014, and is also stepmother to husband Brandon Blackstock's two other children.
"My whole life took a big 180," she revealed. "I never thought I was going to be a mom, so it's very much changed my world in the most awesome way. I love what I do, but I feel like I relied on my career a lot for my self-worth. And now I'm more than that. I'm a mother and a wife."
"I have a certain level of peace I didn't know was going to come with it," she said of motherhood. "I've accomplished a lot, but I guess the biggest success I want is that whenever I die people will say, 'She was so successful as a mother, and as a wife.' That's kind of my big goal."
Clarkson and Blackstock have been together since 2012, and married in October 2013. The singer will release her seventh studio album, Piece by Piece, on Friday, her first record with completely original material since Stronger in 2011.
