Cairo – Shaimaa Mikkawi
“At the beginning I was worried when President Mohamed Morsi gave his first speech and ignored the artists," said Egyptian singer Mostafa Kamar to Arabstoday. "But when he said he did not mean to forget them, I thought he was quite honest," he said. He added: “If Mohammed Morsi achieves what he has promised, Egypt will be the greatest country in the world, and I’m very optimistic about him...we have to give him a chance." "We should give him a short-term plan, and a long-term plan...the shorter one will allow a 100 days for him to prove himself. Then after six months, his efforts will be analysed again, the same after a year. If we feel things have changed, it means he has been succesful,” said the star. About his hopes for art, Mostafa said: “I hope that every actor cares for his art, and work not only for personal gains but to establish new standards.” The singer also spoke about his next album: “My new album aims to reassure Egyptian people about the future, so I named it ‘Be Reassured’...I will release it soon.”
