Airstrikes in Syria

The US-led coalition continued to strike Daesh targets in Syria and Iraq, with a total of 12 airstrikes between 8 a.m on March 4, and 8 a.m on March 5, local time, said the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) in a statement released Thursday.
In Syria seven airstrikes were carried out near three areas: Al Hasakah, where an "an airstrike struck an Daesh tactical unit and destroyed Daesh fighting position," Ain al Arab (Kobane), where "four airstrikes destroyed 11 Daesh fighting positions and Daesh VBIED (vehicle-borne improvised explosive device also known as a car bomb)," and Tal Hamis, where "two airstrikes struck two Daesh fighting positions and destroyed an Daesh staging area and Daesh fighting position." In Iraq, five airstrikes were carried out near four areas: Al Asad, where "an airstrike struck an Daesh tactical unit and destroyed an Daesh fighting position", Fallujah, where "two airstrikes destroyed Daesh armored vehicle, Daesh artillery piece and Daesh vehicle," Haditha, where "an airstrike was conducted to help support friendly forces movement," and finally near Mosul, where "an airstrike struck Daesh tactical unit," CJTF-OIR said.
