Security Sources today revealed that at least 23 people were killed in fighting between Boko Haram militants and the Niger army over the island of Karamga, on the Niger side of Lake Chad.
The sources said the Boko Haram militants attacked the island in late Friday, adding that clashes continued until the militants were repelled yesterday.
